College Application Procedures
APPLYING TO A 2 OR 4 YEAR COLLEGE
1. Apply to the college(s) of your choice at the actual college website.
2. After you submit your college application, please fill out the Google form requesting your transcript.
3. If you need a letter of recommendation you need to:
You MUST give at least 2 weeks turnaround time to have your teachers submit letters of recommendation. The more time you give your teachers or other recommenders the better your letter will be.
4. If you are using the Common Application for your college applications, there are additional steps you need to take in order to complete the transcript submission process.
It is important that you pay attention to these details in order for your counselor to be able to send your transcripts as well as for teachers to be able to upload their letters of recommendation!

5. If your college requires SAT or ACT scores you need to log into those accounts and request that those scores are sent to your colleges.
Make sure you meet deadlines to save $$$$$$$
6. Apply for scholarships

7. Complete the FAFSA by OCTOBER 1

Letters of recommendations for academic programs (AHEC), colleges, universities, and scholarships are used to provide both a summary of your academic and extracurricular involvements as well as insight into who you are as an individual. Completing the questions and statements below will greatly assist us in creating letters of recommendation that present you in a positive light. PLEASE BE AS THOROUGH AND DESCRIPTIVE AS POSSIBLE WHEN COMPLETING THIS FORM.
Please complete and submit this form AT LEAST TWO WEEKS prior to when you need your completed letter of recommendation.
